How WonderEdge Works: Standard vs. Low Profile

Every WonderEdge system works the same way in principle — a rigid profile, a hidden connector, and a base flange for staking. But the two product lines, Standard and Low Profile, are engineered differently to suit different jobs. Here's how each one works.

Low Profile: Channel and Rod

The Low Profile system is a slim, rigid channel — thin enough to disappear at the edge of a lawn while still holding a clean, continuous line. The turf backing tucks directly into the channel, creating a locked seam with nothing showing above grade.

Sections connect with a separate rod that slides into a groove along the channel, joining pieces end-to-end while still allowing the profile to flex around curves. The flange below includes pre-punched holes for staking straight into the ground before turf goes down.

Standard: Tube and Sleeve

The Standard profile is a rigid, hollow rectangular tube — built for long, straight-to-gently-curved runs where maximum rigidity matters. Like Low Profile, the turf backing tucks directly into the profile for a clean, finished edge.

Standard connects differently: an internal sleeve slides directly inside the tube and seats flush, joining sections without any overlap or visible seam. The base flange stakes into the ground the same way, anchoring the perimeter first.

The bottom line
Different connection systems, same result: a locked, seamless edge that holds its line — no buckling, no gaps, no visible hardware. Choose Low Profile for curves and hardscape transitions, or Standard for long, straight runs where rigidity matters most.
